Chief of Police in Walhalla, ND, Jim Maloney and his partner were called to a possible suicide attempt. On reaching the residence, the subject was seen cutting his wrists at the kitchen sink. Maloney rushed in the attempt to subdue the subject, Maloney received a knife slash across his abdomen. The knife sliced Maloney’s jacket, uniform shirt and into his Second Chance Model® Y vest. The vest received no damage and kept Maloney from sustaining a serious stomach incision.
