n 1978, Gara was a patrolman when became our 138th SAVE, when his patrol car became a little higher, wider and shorter in an accident. In 1985, Detective Gara became SAVE 353 due to anoother accident. When a pickup truck pulled out in front of Gara, his face smashed into the windshield. At the hospital, he was found to have a broken hand, a second degree concussion, leg, foot, knee, hip, and neck injuries. He sustained little, if any damage to his Second Chance® vest that protected his chest from any injury.
