Officer McDonald was in pursuit of two vehicles, a car and truck, with speeds reaching 80 MPH. The truck pulled off the road and stopped. Just as McDonald’s unit was passing the truck to catch the car, the truck made a U-turn in front of McDonald. The patrol unit struck the pickup, spun and wound up in the roadside ditch. Dr. Brown, Plano General Hospital ER physician, state that “the (Second Chance®) vest McDonald was wearing saved him from intensive, serious injury as it prevented the entrance of the steering column to his chest and distributed the direct impact on his chest cavity.”
We welcome Officer Rich McDonald, SAVE #356, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
