Officer Fecke put on his new Model Y Second Chance® armor back in 1978 when he took the job as booking officer/jailer for the City of Dayton, OH. Taking on a new assignment at Waupun WI State Correctional Facility brought new horrors to his new job as a guard in the segregation building for “dangerous” prisoners. During a riot at the facility, Fecke was the only guard wearing armor, so he was given the duty of “first in” to get stubborn cons from their cells. On four different occasions, his Second chance armor repelled thrusts from “homemade” weapons that surely would have ended his career and his life.
