Officer Nicholson was in pursuit of a fleeing vehicle and driver, both cars exceeding the 70 MPH range. The distance between the two vehicles was fairly close because a third car turned into the path of the pursued car causing a nasty crash joined shortly by Nicholson and his marked patrol car. No chest injuries resulted because of the Second Chance® armor Nicholson was wearing.
