Deputy Page’s arrival on a “suspicious noises” call apparently scared away two suspects in the process of stripping a car. As Page was checking out the vehicle, he was shot twice in the back with a 12ga. buckshot charge. As he lay on the ground, he was shot again from the front. The blast spray outside the armor protected chest and back caused serious injury to his neck and shoulder. Writes Page, “I survived the attack due to wearing a Second Chance® vest. (Because) I survived (was) able to provide information that assisted in the arrest of my assailant.
