Officer Franzman was struck by another vehicle doing approximately 45 MPH as he was working a traffic post at a homicide scene. Franzman struck the driver’s portion of the front windshield and was thrown in excess of 80″ through the air landing squarely on his back suffering severe arm and leg injuries. He received no injuries to his torso, which was protected by his Second Chance® vest.
