On May 17, 1981, Officer Nicholas Bauer was struck by a motorcycle while directing traffic. Although receiving a broken leg in the collision, Dr. Frable states in writing, “the protective vest made of Kevlar (Second Chance®)…in fact protected Bauer from more extensive injuries in the case of…life threatening incident(s).”
