Officer Frank Sherrod and his partner were called to a store on a suspicion of a possible forger. As they entered the store, both officers approached the suspect. As one of the men came close to the suspect, the suspect pulled a boot knife from his waistband and began slashing at the officer. Sherrod came to his partner’s aid and in the struggle the knife stabbed both the front and back panels of Sherrod’s Second Chance® armor. the vest stopped the penetration of the knife and enabled Sherrod to subdue and capture his assailant.
