Officer Gurski pulled his patrol car to the side of the street to check out some information on his clipboard. While sitting behind the wheel, still wearing his seatbelt, an unknown subject quietly approached the car from the rear driver’s side. Without warning, Gurski received a blow to his chest with a slashing weapon that cut the seatbelt, Gurski’s uniform shirt and causing minor injuries to his left arm. The assailant then fled on foot. By the time Gurski realized what had happened, reported the attack and unbuckled his harness, his attacker disappeared into the night.
