Officer Arrighi’s patrol car crashed into a local car dealership during a four-mile, high speed car chase. Arrighi lost control of his cruiser after he was cut off by a drunk driver he was trying to pass. The cruiser crashed into six parked vehicles on the car lot, rupturing one of the cars” fuel tanks causing an engine fire in Arrighi’s unit. The hospital report indicates Arrighi’s Second Chance® vest “may have saved him from having his chest crushed by the steering column.”
