Officer Nakamura was in pursuit of a vehicle involved in a residential burglary when he lost control of his car, running off the roadway. The car skidded sideways into a tree pinning Nakamura in his car for more than an hour while rescue crews cut him out. Attending physician, Dr. Riley, advised him that had it not been for his Second Chance® armor, Nakamura would have sustained a crushed chest and/or broken back.
