Officer David Moody was on patrol on his motorcycle when a large black dog ran out in front of his cycle. It was almost 2200 hrs. and the animal was not visible at the time. The cycle was unable to avoid striking the animal, Moody was thrown from his bike and slid on his back approximately 44-feet. His Second Chance® armor kept the road rash to a minimum but shredded his shirt and ballistic panel carrier.
