Deputy Sheriff Gunter was returning home after his night shift when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. His car left the road, flipped several times and burst into flames. Several local people, including a registered nurse stopped at the scene and worked together to get Gunter our of his car as the flames worked their way into the front driver’s area. A helper at the scene stated that his (Second Chance®) vest protected him from back or chest injuries.
