Captain Wayne Onger had entered the Medical Sciences Building on the University of North Dakota campus making his early morning rounds. At the 4th floor level he entered a door leading to the hallway. As he stepped through the door he was struck in the upper abdomen with a 4.5″ lock blade knife. The force of the blow knocked him backward through the door and down the stairwell. Onger was able to draw his weapon and proceed back up the stairs calling for assistance on his radio. His attacker was able to escape capture, leaving his weapon hung up in Onger’s Second Chance® armor, and leaving Onger uninjured.
