Officer Clements responded to a shots fired call at 2:45AM. The gunman closed and locked his front door on the arrival of the officers. During the attempt to enter the house after a four-hour holdout, the subject fired four slugs from his 20ga shotgun through the front door striking Clements in the wrist and chest. Because of Clements stance at the time of the hits, it isn’t known whether he was struck with one slug glancing off his wrist into his chest or if there were two separate slugs. The slug striking Clements” chest was caught in his nine-year-old Model Y Second Chance® armor.
