Turner responded to a man-with-gun call in the Charlotte residential area. The woman caller met the car and directed the officer to where her husband was last seen. Turner went around the back of the house where he encountered the man, hidden behind a storage shed, with his gun. The man stepped from behind the shed and fired his .357. Two slugs hit Turner in the arm and thigh. As he ducked for cover another slug buried itself in the back of Turner’s Second Chance® Model Y2A back panel. The shooter then turned the gun on himself.
