During a man-with-gun call, Jarabek ordered the suspect to take the position for a search. The man swung around with a .22 from his waistband shooting Jarabek twice in his chest, protected by his Second Chance® armor. Jarabek ran for cover behind his car as the man followed him, shooting Jarabek three more times, in the arm and twice more in the back panel. Jarabek then pulled his own .357 shooting his assailant in the leg and left side. Jarabek’s assailant was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
