Deputy Shirley and his partner were transporting an inmate to a local hospital for tests. Going with the flow of traffic, about 60-65 MPH, Shirley was making an adjustment to his shoulder harness and seat belt. He took his eyes off the road for a split second. His partner yelled “car!” Shirley was thrown forward on impact, crushing the steering wheel and impacting with the dashboard. Shirly was transported to the hospital with cuts and abrasions. The K30 plate of his Second Chance® soft armor was visibly bent. ER physicians found no torso injury on Shirley.
We welcome Deputy Steven Shirley, SAVE #508, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
