About 1:00 a.m., on August 24, 1993, Officer Fisher observed a driver’s disregard for a traffic signal and initiated a traffic stop. As Fisher approached the violator’s vehicle, the suspect turned and fired one shot from his Charter Arms .44 special revolver. The round nose lead bullet passed through Fisher’s right hand and stopped in his Second Chance® Model Y2A body armor. The treating physician stated that the shot would have penetrated the upper aorta over the heart if not stopped by the vest. The suspect was arrested within minutes of the incident. Fisher was expected to fully recover as no serious damage was done.
We welcome Officer King Fisher, SAVE #585, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
