While working on a photo project to benefit the humanitarian effort aid in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Craig was hit by a sniper’s bullet in his Second Chance® Command Jac. The impact from the rifle round struck Craig in the lower left side of his chest. Craig felt the sniper was trying for a side shot because they know a lot of journalists wear plated body armor. “The impact knocked the wind out of me, the sound of the bullet hitting the plate was extremely loud and at first I didn’t know what had happened. I was on my feet within a couple of minutes, a little sore, but mostly shaken up. A UN German doctor examined Craig and in her opinion, “had he (Craig) not been wearing armor, his chances of surviving a rifle shot so close to his heart (3.5-in.) would be non-existent.
We welcome Journalist James Craig, SAVE #596, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
