Officer Blackshear and his backup observed a suspicious vehicle with occupants parked adjacent to a mini-storage building. Two male occupants of the car exited the vehicle as the officers approached. One of the subjects pulled a 9mm handgun and fired at the officers. Blackshear was hit twice, once in the lower left chest, protected by his 14-year old Second Chance® armor, the second shot striking his left arm. The second officer returned fire striking one of the assailants. Both men were captured and charged with two counts of attempted murder on a policeman.
