Detective Smith had just finished his time on the firing range for standardized pistol qualifications. He reloaded his service pistol, a Glock 23, .40 SW, with issued Winchester SXT ammo. Before retiring for the day, Smith decided to clean his weapon. While unloading the gun, Smith experienced an accidental discharge. The .40SW round struck him on his lower left abdomen. Smith was wearing his Second Chance® Level IIA departmental issued body armor which successfully stopped the round in the first two layers of the Kevlar material. Smith received a bruise and abrasion in the area the round struck.
We welcome Detective Kris Smith, SAVE #655, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
