Deputy Herbst was aiding in the apprehension of a felon who was handcuffed and being dragged through a narrow hallway. The felon was able to grab the officer’s .40-caliber handgun and squeeze off one round that struck the shooters leg, glanced off the wedding band on another’s hand and ricochet into the K30 plate of Herbst’s Second Chance® concealed Monarch armor. The gun jammed before a second round could be fired.
