Officer Garcia responded, with other officers, to a “shots fired” call where a male had just shot a female associate. On arrival, the subject shot at another officer. Return fire dropped the shooter still holding onto his gun. As Garcia approached the man ordering him to drop his weapon, the man fired at Garcia, hitting him in the leg, hip and chest protected by his Second Chance® 322Z-II armor. The .380 handgun was wrestled from the assailant who was handcuffed and rushed to the hospital along with Garcia.
