In one of the more bizarre SAVES cases Second Chance® has documented, Officer Krakowiecki was at police headquarters in the process of making an arrest when a suspect shoved him through a plate glass window. As Krakowiecki lay on the ground, a huge pane of broken glass weighing between 75 and 100 pounds, came slicing down towards him. He was struck by the edge of the glass in his Second Chance® vest. Without his vest, Krakowiecki would have been, according to witnesses, virtually cut in half.
