Officer Zipperner went into a downtown restaurant after receiving an anonymous call about a suspicious person loitering behind the establishment. When Zipperner exited his unit, the “loiterer” pulled a .38 from his waistband and fired four shots. Two of the four shots hit Zipperner, the other two his police unit. Zipperner returned fire hitting and dropping his assailant. Results from the hits on Zipperner’s chest were minor, producing bruises. Something he could live with, thanks to his Second Chance® vest.
We welcome Officer John Zipperner, SAVE #74, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
