Detective Hennlein was a member of an entry team attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a subject for attempted murder. The first volley of shots from the house hit no one but the second volley caught Hennlein as he was going up the stairs after the gunman. One round from the assailant’s 9mm struck Hennlein in the upper right shoulder area protected by his Second Chance® SUPERfeatherlite II soft armor. Hennlein was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. The shooter took his own life before police could get to him.
