Deputy Olson pursued a speeding motorist who turned out to be wanted felon, armed with two handguns. As Olson was attempting to control the suspect who had dropped one pistol on the ground, a second gun, a .45, was drawn and Olson was shot in his Second Chance® IIIA Monarch, the round catching the vest under his right armpit area. Olson drew his own weapon and returned fire emptying his 15-round magazine at his assailant striking him 14-times. The subject was believed to be on drugs and was still struggling when Olson’s backup arrived. The subject died shortly after being placed in custody.
We welcome Deputy Corey B. Olson, SAVE #761, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
