Lt. Benzon was working on the FBI Task Force when he sustained two hits on his torso from a 9mm auto handgun. The first slug struck the front of his armor in his K30 plate. The second struck his Kevlar helmet when he was turned by the first hit. The impact knocked him down but he did not lose consciousness. There was some soreness over the left anterior ribs but his six-year-old Featherlite Second Chance vest® “saved” his day!
