Officer Robinson was working uniform patrol in a marked car when he stopped a vehicle about just before midnight for a minor traffic violation. Just as he walked up to the car the driver turned and fired several shots at him with a .22 handgun. Robinson was hit twice in the chest, near the heart area. He was wearing his SUPERfeatherlite II Second Chance® armor at the time, which caught and held the lead slugs. The shooter, a 17-year-old, was arrested the next morning and within a few days Officer Robinson was back on duty.
We welcome Officer Doug Robinson, SAVE #769, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
