Sgt. Weinrich was a member of a tact team attempting to coerce a male subject from his car. Weinrich was behind his Lt. Kane who was holding a “bunker”. At one point the subject’s arm came out of the open car door. Weinrich stepped out from behind the bunker and grabbed the arm. On doing this, the subject brought around a Tech-9 and opened fire at Weinrich. The first hit went through his metal badge and lodged in his SC229 IIIA concealed armor. The second slug ripped into his upper left thigh, traveling across his abdomen, lodging in his right hip. Weinrich returned fire several times through the open car door after being hit. At that same time more backup fire struck the subject who was still sitting in his car.
We welcome Sergeant Steven Weinrich, SAVE #789, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
