Constable Michael Brinegar responded to a disturbance call and was confronted by a violent 6’2” 312 LB pound male offender. Constable Brinegar attempted to take the individual into custody and a violent struggle ensued. During the fight, Constable Brinegar suffered numerous injuries including a broken hand, wrist, dislocated shoulder, and cracked ribs. His Monarch level II armor protected his torso from further damage. Constable Brinegar was eventually able to subdue the assailant and take him into custody. Constable Brinegar was hospitalized but has since recovered.
