Officer Connors was called to investigate a report of a robbery at an ATM machine. The car license was taken off the tape at ARM and traced to a residence. Connors and his partner were interviewing a subject at an apartment when a young man, using his grandmother as a human shield, entered the apartment. As Connors reached for his weapon, the subject, behind the women started firing at both officers. Connors was hit three times with rounds from a .38 revolver; once in the shoulder, once in the leg and once over his 322ZII Second Chance® armor covering his abdomen. The shooter took off running but was apprehended a block from the house.
