Conservation Officers Christy Pawliuk and Mike Taje were conducting a check stop when they had the misfortune of being at the end of a chain reaction of a motor vehicle accident. Both officers were out of their car at the time and officer Pawliuk was run over by a truck. She walked away from the accident and was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. The treating physician stated that Officer Pawliuk ‘s body armor saved her from serious chest injury.
