Conservations Officers Christy Pawliuk and Mike Taje were conducting a check stop when they had the misfortune of being at the end of a chain reaction of a motor vehicle accident. Both officers were out of their car at that time. A truck struck Officer Taje and Officer Pawliuk was run over by a truck. Both officers walked away from the accident and were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. The treating physician stated that Officer Taje’s body armor saved him from serious internal injuries.
