Deputy Pleiman was working traffic control in front of a concert entrance. A pickup truck struck him in the side. The driver was later found to be O.U.I.L. The impact knocked him onto the hood and into the windshield before he was thrown onto the roadway. Deputy Pleiman was admitted to the Miami Valley Hospital and listed in serious condition with non-life threatening injuries. The physician stated that Deputy Pleiman’s body armor saved him from life threatening internal injuries.
