Officer Young was part of a tactical team dispatched to a bar in Texas City. There was lone gunman, allegedly high on cocaine, inside the bat and he had taken over the business, clearing out the patrons and employees. He was threatening to kill himself and anyone else who got in the way. In trying to flush out the suspect with tear gas, a gun battle ensued. During the course of the gun battle, the gunman hit Officer Young at close range on his left side one inch below his ribs striking his Second Chance® Body Armor. Officer Young was struck also outside of his armor but he survived and was able to return to duty. Officer Young is convinced that his Second Chance® Body Armor saved his life.
