Officer McConnehey was on foot patrol at 1:00 am and was going up some stairs when he noticed an individual in a shadowy area. He shined his light toward him and asked to speak with him. The subject then turned around and shot the officer twice from less than ten feet away with a .22 caliber handgun. Both bullets were stopped by McConnehey’s Second Chance® Body Armor. Officer McConnehey was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
