Deputy Sheriff Adam Rice received serious injuries when he wrecked his patrol car en route to an emergency call. He missed a turn and hit a tree going at least 50mph. It took rescue workers more than an hour cutting through the patrol car’s tangled metal to free the Deputy. Rice received two broken legs and a broken wrist in the accident. According to the attending physician, Rice’s Second Chance® armor prevented him from sustaining any chest trauma.
