Trooper Czajkowski was sitting in his patrol car, writing up a routine traffic citation for a commercial vehicle, when a second commercial vehicle struck his car. Rafalski received multiple injuries but sustained no closed head or spinal injuries. The driver of the other commercial vehicle apparently fell asleep behind the wheel.
