Officer Flannery was on duty when he stopped a car for having a headlamp out. As he approached the car on the passenger side, the driver shot at him two times through the passenger window. The first shot struck on his left chest area and the second shot hit him in the wrist. Fortunately, he was wearing his Second Chance® armor and he stated “When the bullet hit me in the chest area, I knew I was hit, but I had the confidence in the vest and felt I would survive the injury. The bullet did not penetrate the vest. I was bruised from the impact, but was still able to remain in the fight and survive the shooting. I am grateful to Second Chance® for making a product that is not only top quality, but does the job it was intended to do. One again, thank you very much for giving me a second chance to be with my family and to continue doing the job I love.”Officer was very fortunate that he was wearing his Second Chance® Armor, and he was very lucky that the second shot deflected off his wristwatch.
We welcome Officer Robert Flannery, SAVE #888, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
