Constable Smith was en route to an “Officer Needs Assistance” call when his patrol car was hit by an inattentive driver that turned into the passenger side of their police cruiser. The impact caused the cruiser to tilt up on the 2 driver’s side wheels, spin out and smash into a thick concrete light pole. The cruiser was going approximately 50 mph at the time of the collision. The impact was so severe that the driver’s side rear tire came to rest on the back of the drivers seat. According to Smith’s physician, he has his Second Chance® Armor to thank for protecting him from spinal injuries.
