Ross was involved in a high speed “T-bone” motor vehicle crash requiring extraction. He was driving his police vehicle and responding to a possible suicide attempt when he was struck. Ross was thrown through the passenger window. According to the attending physician, he would likely have suffered a life threatening chest injury had he not been wearing his Second Chance® armor.
