Officer Mallach was working in a flooded intersection when he was struck by a car going 40 mph. He was thrown onto the hood of the vehicle and then into the windshield and finally onto the roof. When the driver applied her brakes, he was then thrown several feet into the intersection. He landed flat on his back when he hit the street and then was able to get up immediately and walk out of the roadway.Mallach suffered severe bruising to both legs and damaged his shoulder. The attending physicians were amazed that they found no sign of any back, rib or neck injuries. Mallach has his Second Chance® armor to thank for that.
We welcome Officer Chad Mallach, SAVE #909, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
