Officer Luis Lara stopped a car and the driver refused to turn off his car. When Lara reached in the car to turn off the ignition, the driver sped off with speeds in access of 80mph with Lara still hanging on. Officer Lara was able to release his arm but he tumbled along the highway, receiving injuries to his knees and arms but he was wearing his body armor at the time of the accident which prevented severe chest trauma and injury.
