Officer Dallas Hawkes and his partner were attempting to extract a suspect out of a car. Both officers were on the driver’s side of the suspect’s vehicle when the suspect, still in his vehicle, jammed the car into reverse. Both officers were were dragged about 25 feet before the car backed into a police car, pinning Hawkes under the care while the throwing the other officer on the hood.Hawkes was wearing his Second Chance® Armor which saved him from numerous injuries that could have been sustained due to the dragging.
