Two Fairbanks International Airport Police tried to pull over a car with a missing tail light. The vehicle speeded up and a chase ensued. Officer Jim Geier, from Fairbanks PD, joined the pursuit.The fleeing vehicle then got stuck in a snow bank….and the driver fled. A foot chase ensued and there was a confontation. Geier was shot a total of three times from a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun. A bullet was deflected by his Second Chance® Armor on the trauma plate and another bounced off his utility belt, troopers said.Third in your right thigh.The offender was killed in a hail of gunfire. Geier will miss some work, but is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
