Deputy Lane made a traffic stop and the driver of the vehicle began an altercation then fled in his vehicle. After an attempt to flee, the suspect was finally apprehended. While deputies were trying to contain the suspect so they could place him under arrest, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot twice at deputy Lane and he was shot in the chest and leg. Deputy Lane was transported to the hospital for treatment of his leg injury. He had no injuries to his chest as his Second Chance® Armor held the bullet.
