It was early enough so many people were awake when the Grand Rapids police and two suspected armed robbers exchanged gunfire. Police reported to the scene of a suspected robbery. The home of the suspected robbery was surrounded by officers when a pair of suspects came out and started shooting. Officer Jason Lowrie was hit 3 times, wounded in the leg and armed, but saved by his Second Chance® vest.
